The Lyon1 University is very proud to announce scholarships in support of excellent students who wish to complete their PhD in France, in an interdisciplinary doctoral program dedicated to the musculoskeletal system. Scholarships are supported by the Graduate initiative MuSkLE within the Graduate+ framework.
Graduate + is a programme of training through research reuniting 4 French higher education institutions, 15 transdisciplinary thematic programmes of excellence from undergraduate to doctoral level, intensive immersion in the world of research, scholarships for international students as well as scholarships for international mobility.
This programme is supported by the French National Research Agency as part of the Investments Program #3 / France 2030 (ANR-21-SFRI-0001).
These 3 Doctoral scholarships are allocated for 3 years from June 2026 to May 2029 or a motivated applicant eager to work on in an interdisciplinary doctoral program dedicated to the musculoskeletal system. Projects between Graduate Initiative MuSkLE teams are highly encouraged.
PhD projects are selected by a dedicated committee. Application must be submitted in English.

After a remote oral presentation, PhD candidates are selected for the Doctoral scholarships by a dedicated committee.

The amount of the doctoral scholarship is € 2300/month (gross salary) for 3 years.
Being a foreign student (dual citizenship accepted)
Having obtained a Master’s degree in a field related to the Graduate initiative before the beginning of the PhD scholarship
Excellence of the academic background
Research experiences inside and outside Academia
Motivation and consistency of the professional project

Notification of selection: Week of the 27th of April
Selection committee with the candidates selected for a remote oral presentation: Weeks of the 11th May of of the 18th May
