Call for Internship abroad scholarship – M2 students (M2FCN & M2CNS paths)

The NeuroGraduate school is launching a call for applications for outgoing international mobility of master students who will be registered in the M2 paths: Fundamental and Clinical Neurosciences (M2FCN) or Computational Neurosciences (M2CNS) of UCBL1.

  • The duration of the stay will be 5 months and the financial support will be 1000€/month, for the whole duration of the stay (i.e. 5000 € for each fellowship).
  • The stay must be completed between January and early June 2027
  • Note that the oral evaluation of the internships takes place in person in Lyon on mid-June.
  • The call is endowed with a total of 6 fellowships, which will be distributed between the two paths as a function of the quality of the applications

Eligibility:

  1. Applicants should be applying to the M2FCN or the M2CNS program and be willing to join a team outside France for their internship (Jan-June 2027). Final awarding of the fellowship is conditioned to acceptance in one of the two programs
  2. Applications should set up a research program to be carried out during the stay. This program must be proposed in agreement with the M2FCN or M2CNS master director and the person in charge of the implementation of the project in the host laboratory
  3. Students who obtained NeuroGraduate funding for outgoing internships in previous years are eligible, but their candidature will be treated as low priority
  4. Students who have been awarded with an M2 excellence scholarship are not eligible for this additional SFRI funding

Selection procedure:

Applications will be evaluated based on three criteria (each rated on a ABC scale):

            – Academic excellence (50%): e.g. grades and ranking

            – Experience (30%): e.g. feasibility of the project, previous internships, added value for the student

            – Motivation (20%): e.g. relevance of career plan, motivations for joining the laboratory/company abroad

A score of C in any of the sections will be disqualifying. The other applicants will be ranked and the first 6 will be awarded the fellowship. Next will be assigned to a waiting list.

The selection committee will include:

  • The head of the Fellowships Action Team of the NeuroGraduate school
  • The directors of the M2FCN and M2CNS paths
