We are pleased to announce the launch of the Excellence Scholarship Campaign for Masters students who wish to attend one of the masters of the IEIS Graduate Programme.
The IEIS Graduate Programme focuses on entrepreneurship and its transformational abilities. It aims to train students and researchers in entrepreneurship working on an innovative, international project with societal impact (climate, health, biodiversity, greencity, smartcity, etc.).
Students in the graduate school have the opportunity to develop the entrepreneurial skills that are essential to lead innovative and societal projects. At the same time, high-level researchers with the ability to federate and act in complex and international situations to develop ambitious entrepreneurial projects have the opportunity to grow.
These scholarships are intended for foreign students wishing to enroll in one of the following 2nd year of Master’s programme :
This programme brings together higher education institutions specialised in management on the Lyon Saint-Etienne site (iaelyon School of Management, emlyon business school, Université Lyon 2 and IAE de Saint-Etienne) and aims to train professionals in studies or consultancy in management, strategy, human resources and marketing, who are able to capitalize on management research.
This EFMD-accredited programme is both professionally and research-oriented, and aims to train professionals open to world’s diversity, who integrate social responsibility into their management professions and who are able to bridge theory and practice.
Please note : The scholarship is conditional on following the “Honors IEIS” course, in addition to one of the twp Master programmes mentioned above.
Details of the “Honors IEIS” course :
– Taking courses linked to five teaching pillars : research, entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainable development, international ;
– Participation in two full seminars during iaelyon International Week ;
– Conducting research for the CREATE team on the theme of the Graduate IEIS (integration into the Magellan research laboratory) ;
– Writing a Master Thesis in connection with the Graduate IEIS theme.
Joining the IEIS Graduate School means benefiting from :
– An integrated curriculum with a strong international flavour, open to students of all nationalities;
– A dynamic and cosmopolitan research environment, with close links to the major international research and teaching networks and conferences in the management field (AIMS, AOM, AEI, AIREPME, EIASM, etc.) ;
– Invitations to events, such as the Graduate IEIS Winter School, in partnership with the International Week at iaelyon school of management ;
– Opportunities for research placements abroad.
This training programme is part of the Graduate+ project involving four French universities on the Lyon – Saint-Etienne site: Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Université Jean Moulin and Université Jean Monnet.
Graduate+ proposes 15 transdisciplinary thematic programmes of excellence from undergraduate to doctoral level, intensive immersion into the world of research, scholarships for international students as well as scholarships for international mobility.
The amount of the scholarship is €1000 per month for 10 months, totaling €10000 per year per recipient.
Please note : Scholarship recipients are also eligible for a relocation grant of €2,000.
To be a foreign student, newcomer to a French university and living outside of France at the time of the application (French dual citizenship allowed)
Having obtained a 1st year of Master before in the field of Business Administration or Management or any field related to GRADUATE INITIATIVE
Excellence of the academic background
Internship experiences and technical skills in research
Motivation and consistency of the professional project
Level of French and English
Please note : 4 scholarships are available for the academic year 2025-2026.

IMPORTANT: Separately, at least one letter of recommendation must be sent to the following address: alicia.merle@univ-lyon3.fr . This letter has to be written by former or current professors, lecturers, tutors or supervisors. This letter must be submitted by the referee, and not directly by the applicant.
The jury will meet the week of February 24th, 2025 and notifications will be issued on the week of March 3rd, 2025.
In parallel with the above procedure, students should act according to their situation and apply to the training programme on the dedicated national platforms.
These two procedures are independent of each other but compulsory.
